FAQ'S

FAQ'S

So you want to know more?

See some common questions and answers below or call us on 01472 822006.
  • What are your business hours?

    We are open Tuesday - Saturday 9.30am - 5pm.

We are closed Sundays and Mondays.

  • Do I need an appointment?

Yes you do! We believe that every bride and groom should have a personal/private appointment. Therefore, we need to ensure a bridal suite/the grooms room is available for you and that you have your own personal stylist. We will happily accept walk ins if we are available however, it is best to book to avoid disapointment; especially on Saturdays!

  • When should I start looking for my dress?

All of our dresses are made to order. They take 4-6 months to arrive from ordering so that you don't incur any rush charges. This depends on the designer. You then need to allow 2 months for alterations. Usually a bride will buy her dress a year before her wedding. Sometimes sooner if she is looking to pay by a payment plan. On a short time scale? Dont panic. We have over a 100 dresses in store ready to go and some designers can offer very fast rush orders.

  • What prices are your gowns and do you provide payment plans?

Our gowns range between £800 - £3500. If you are shopping on a smaller budget then please ask to see our range of samples that we have for sale. These range between £299- £800. We do offer payment plans, please ask us for deatils.

  • How many people can I bring with me?

From experience we reccomend a maximum of 3 guests. We find too many opinions can be overwhelming for the bride. Our bridal suites comfortably fit 4 people in them. Once you have found 'the one' we can book you a reveal appointment. Then we can fit all of your guests in for a half an hour appointment so they can see 'the one'.

  • How long is my appointment?

A formal suit hire appointment is 1 hour. For a bridal appointment it is 1.5hours. If you are a #ccrealdbride then dress re-try appointments are 0.5 hours. Fittings with the seamstress are 1 hour.

  • Travelling to us?

Please get in touch with us. We have some fantastic hotels nearby and local restaurants that we can recommend. We will be glad to help you make reservations.

  • Is your shop accessible?

Absoloutely! We have tons of free parking right outside our doors. Every part of our store has wheelchair access! We also only have a ground floor so no need to worry about granny getting up the stairs!

Have a question? We’re here to help!
  • When will my dress be ordered?

Your dress will be ordered immediately once you have paid half the cost of your dress and you have been measured. We will discuss sizing and colourways with you.

  • I've ordered my dress, what's next?

Now you have placed your order you can hopefully relax knowing that you’re in the best hands and can focus on other details. If you would like to book in for an accessory appointment or to have bridesmaid styling or menswear please let us know – we would love to help complete The Look!

We will now inform your designer of your order including your wedding date and dress size and they will let us know when to expect delivery. If you would like, we can inform you of this date but please bear in mind that this is only an Estimated Date as gowns are imported so we are unable to be 100%.

One of the team will contact you once your dress has been made and delivered to collect the remaining balance. This can be done over the phone or in store – it’s completely up to you. You will then be able to come in store to try your dress on for the first time.

  • When will my 1st dress fitting be with the seamstress?

If you choose our inhouse seamstress, ideally, we like to start fittings 2 months in advance pf your wedding date or if marrying overseas, your leave date. We will try to be as flexible as possible. If you do have any special requests, please let us know NOW so we can put in the request. Express fittings are sometimes possible, but may cost extra.

  • What shall I expect at my 1st dress fitting?

Its always and exciting and sometimes nervous moment the first time you try on your actual wedding dress and we just want you to enjoy every minute so try and leave any nerves or anxiety at the door- you’re in safe hands!

At your 1st fitting your dress will be at its 1st stage so any additional items or design changes will not have been done at this stage. These are started at your fitting when you are in your dress and not before.

Please bring your wedding shoes, as the hem will be adjusted (these must be your actual shoes and not shoes with a similar heel height). Failure to bring may result in additional fittings at an extra cost.

  • How many fittings should I expect?

You will have at least 2 dress fittings. A 3rd or 4th fitting is sometimes needed if your dress has had a big alteration or if you have made bespoke changes to your dress. We ask at your first fitting that you try to maintain your shape and not change your dress size, shoes or lingerie. We do not advise over handling a couture dress so ask you to consider and respect our wishes. If you do, it may be at additional expense and at your own risk.

  • What lingerie should I consider?

If you are wearing a low cut or backless dress you may be keen to buy adhesive cups or lingerie tape, but for most dresses we can use sew in cups. For pants we recommend seamless, skin toned barely their styles and do suggest buying a size or two bigger than normal as they will lay better and have no VPL.

  • How do I collect my dress?

When its time to collect your dress, we will hang your dress in an opaque, breathable dress bag. Everything would have been steamed a day prior to you collecting your dress. If you are marrying overseas then, if you wish, you may bring us a bridal box/ suitcase that we will pack your dress into. If you are doing this, or travelling afar, then you may want to repeat the steaming once you have reached your location. Look ahead and speak to your planner/venue or consider buying a portable steamer in preparation.

  • What about after my wedding?

Give us a call and we can recomend dry cleaners, use our seamtress for any repair work or we can put you in touch with gown preservation companies.
